You may be aware that we were a victim of crime a few months ago when the club was broken into, and attempts were made to steal cash. Although very little was stolen, the damage caused during the break in was serious, costly and time consuming to repair. The main reason for this break in and for others in the past is cash. In terms of crime prevention, having no cash at the club, day or night, makes us less of a potential target to criminals.
This summer we took the first steps towards becoming a cashless club by limiting the driving range ball dispenser to PIN ticket or Range Card. We would now like to make all visitor, guest and society payments card only. These steps will make us virtually cashless.
To become fully cashless we are asking you as a member to use your club Smartcard or Credit/Debit Card for your purchases at the club. The aim is to phase out all cash transactions by the end of November 2019. If you have lost your Smartcard please let contact us and a replacement will be provided.
How can Members pay?
There are some club members who still use cash at the club for confectionery, bar food and drink purchases, and we very much hope for their support in becoming cashless. We accept all major credit and debit cards (except American Express) and as a member you already benefit from using your Smartcard instead of cash:
SMARTCARD users enjoy the benefit of a 10% discount on bar food and drinks purchases
TOP-UP at the bar or reception with a minimum of £10
CONTACTLESS payment with all major credit & debit cards (excluding American Express)
